* Any member serving more than 32 hours/week for the length of their service term may be eligible for child-care assistance from AmeriCorps and health insurance from EELCorps.
** All full-time members who are onboarded before Workshop 1 are enrolled in the Professional Environmental Educator Certification (PEEC) Course at no cost to the member or service site.
***Non-full-time members receive certification in Project Wet, Project Wild, and Project Learning Tree. These 3 environmental education core curricula are included in the PEEC certification.
More Information about Member Benefits
- All AmeriCorps EELCorps members receive a living allowance to help EELCorps members cover personal costs while serving in the program. This living allowance is considered taxable income, and is disbursed in bi-weekly increments throughout the service term.
- The Segal Education Award is an award that is to be used for education related costs and qualified student loans, and is contingent upon successful completion of the service term commitment. Learn more about the Segal Education Award here.
- The Member Assistance Program (MAP) is available to all EELCorps members for use. The MAP is free to members and provides 24/7 telephonic access to master's level mental health counselors. To learn more about this benefit, please contact EELCorps Program staff.
- All full-time EELCorps members, or members serving more than 32 hours/week for the length of their service term are eligible for health care insurance coverage through The Corps Network at no cost to the member, if not already covered under another health care plan.
- Any member serving more than 32 hours/week for the length of their service term may be eligible for child-care assistance from AmeriCorps. The childcare benefit is based on income and can be applied for through the AmeriCorps Childcare Application, powered by GAP Solutions.
- All EELCorps members receive ongoing professional development throughout the service term.
